What is ODYSSEY?
Odyssey is a worship experience held in the Main Auditorium (Family Life Center) at Garfield Memorial Church (3650 Lander Road. Pepper Pike OH 44124). It begins at 11:45 AM on Sundays and runs for about an hour. It is an edgy worship experience with a relaxed and concert feel...and a coffee break! Our worship leader is Justin Mackey, front man for the Christian band Harlend , formerly of the band Fusebox. It is a "come as you are service," with a high number of younger adults...WE WORSHIP LOUD
Why the name Odyssey?
Odyssey is named after one of the great classics of literature signifying a long journey. We believe that all of us are on the journey of faith together. We don't claim to have all the answers, but together we can discover truth about ourselves and God.What kind of church are you?
We are a Christian Church in the United Methodist tradition. We are a grace-based ministry where all are accepted and loved, and we want to help people connect with God in deep and meaningful ways.

About US
Chip Freed, Lead Pastor
Chip is a highly sought after preacher and speaker. He has been keynote speaker at some of the major gatherings in The United Methodist Church; as well as other larger church gatherings, such as appearing several times on the national broadcast Real Life from Riverbend Church in Austin, Texas. Prior to entering the ministry, Chip was a CEO in the corporate community, serving as President and General Manager of Mahoning Municipal Products, Inc. Chip's joy is seeing new people come to faith, and he calls Garfield Memorial a place that "reflects the kingdom of God in its diversity and a place of sheer grace!" Pastor Chip is married to "his best friend," Terri, and has three children.

Terry McHugh, Associate Pastor
Terry McHugh is part of the pastoral team as associate pastor. Terry has a passion for helping people discover a transformed life through a relationship with Jesus and helping them to find ways to live out their faith through serving others. 216.831.1942 x 22 terry@garfieldchurch.org. Justin Mackey, Worship Leader
As a lead singer of Harlend and worship leader for Odyssey, Justin’s quest is to help worshippers redefine what true worship is. His musical career became a serious pursuit when he was noticed by the lead singer of Fusebox for his out of the box approach. Billy Buchanan quickly asked Justin to join his group in Nashville. Justin enjoyed the ministry and touring but as Billy sought a solo career Justin once again took up his own music ministry. If one word could define Justin’s desire for authentic worship a it would be more. One of his favorite verses is John 10:10 The theif comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come that they may have life and have it to the full. He effectively leads others to place their praise above their pride and to seek more than what they’ve known. To have LIFE and have it to the FULL. Justin also is the worship leader for Mosaic (10:30 AM Family Life Center). Mosiac is one of the 3 unique worship services at Garfield Memorial Church each Sunday.
